Tengen Toppa Einsaurus (天元突破アインザウルス Tengen Toppa Ainzaurusu?, literally "Heaven-Piercing Einsaurus") is Iraak's Tengen Toppa Gunmen formed during the final battle with the Granzeboma in the second movie adaptation of the series, The Lights in the Sky are Stars. It works together with Kid's Tengen Toppa Kidknuckle and is later lost when it is used with the other Tengen Toppa Gunmen to form Super Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.
Mecha[edit | edit source]
Tengen Toppa Einsaurus draws its designs from the Einzer, mainly in the head shape and color scheme. However, while Einzer was basically a head with spindly legs, Tengen Toppa Einsaurus has a full body, resembling a carnosaur. It is the sixth Tengen Toppa Gunmen to appear after the Granzeboma destroys Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. It also has a notable drill on it's back.
In The Lights in the Sky are Stars[edit | edit source]
After Jorgun and Balinbow save Yoko, Kid and Iraak join the fight, circling the Granzeboma and firing at it together. Iraak goes in to wrestle it as Kid strikes it with Tengen Toppa Kidknuckle's staff, but the two are caught in the hands of Granzeboma and start to be crushed. They are saved by Zorthy's Tengen Toppa Sawzorthn and Makken's Tengen Toppa Mo-Shogun. The two later join the rest of Team Super Galaxy Dai-Gurren in focusing fire on the Granzeboma before they combine their Tengen Toppa Gunmen to form Super Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.
Attacks[edit | edit source]
Tengen Toppa Einsaurus is shown to shoot lasers while moving at incredible speed, as seen in a combination attack with Tengen Toppa Kidknuckle. It also seems to attack like a real dinosaur, with fangs and claws, however his close range combat abilities weren't enough against Granzeboma.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- In the fansub, its name was mistranslated as Tengen Toppa Ainzaurus.
- In the official subtitles, its name accidentally omitted the last vowel: Tengen Toppa Einsaurs.
- The head of Einsaurus bears some resemblance to Eva 01's head from Neon Genesis Evangelion, another work of Gainax.
